How To Use Your Wrap
If you are new to the world of woven wraps, they can be a little bit intimidating at first, but fear not, with a little bit of practice, you can find the size/s that work best for you and your baby and will be wrapping with confidence in no time. You can start wrapping your newborn baby up to toddlerhood with the same wrap, it is such a versatile way of keeping your child near.
A woven wrap is a long piece of fabric that can be tied in numerous ways to keep your baby close to your body. Before wrapping, you can always practice with a stuffed animal or doll, while always checking in a mirror, to gain some confidence.
With a woven wrap, you can carry your child on your front, hip or back. The baby wrap will spread the weight of the child evenly over the upper body: the back and the hips will take a part of the weight and not just the shoulders.
It is recommended that you will always carry the baby in an upright position and tummy to tummy. Carry a small baby high and her head close enough to kiss. Always monitor the baby in the sling or wrap and make sure that she can breath easily.
The right size of the baby wrap depends on the size of the parent and also what kind of carries you want to do with it. The most commonly used size is 4.6m (size 6)
Always ensure that a proper seat is created for your baby by tucking a fair amount of fabric between your child and yourself.
Always spread the width of the fabric from one of your child's knee to her other knee.
You can set your baby in the froggy position in the wrap.
